Longarm quilting and custom quilts

I don’t remember life without quilts. All of my grandmothers made quilts and we used them on all of our beds growing up. The first one that was made especially for me, was a confirmation gift from my Grama Pete. There were blocks that had fabric from my childhood dresses and even one  that was made of my grandfather’s pajamas. I loved all the memories my quilt represented! My mother made Christmas pajamas for all of her grandchildren every year. She bought extra fabric and packed it away. As every grandchild graduated from high school, she gifted them a quilt made from the same fabric as their jammies. Brilliant!

I started quilting about 30 years ago.  At that time, there were lots of quilt shops offering classes and I just kept signing up! I love the art of quilting and particularly like choosing fabrics that blend and work together.

I would love to make a custom quilt for you! Baby quilts and lap quilts are my specialty.  Most of my quilts are backed with super soft and comfy minky. Although if you’re in southern climates, you’ll want to stick with cotton. I also enjoy making T-shirt quilts and memory quilts.

I am most interested in helping people finish their personal creations! I have a Handi-Quilter Amara longarm quilting machine that can do an affordable edge to edge or a more intricate custom design. It is always fun to get your quilt back when it has been professionally quilted. If your sewing is less than perfect (and whose isn’t!) longarm quilting it can really make it pop!
